Best Party Speakers

A party isn’t complete without loud music, which demands the use of suitable speakers. In this article, we’ll discuss the best party speakers for a 50 to 150-person party. While many of the thousands of portable Bluetooth speakers on the market could probably provide music for a small gathering of friends, we’ve purposefully left them out of our list. We believe that, in order to be termed a party speaker, the speakers we feature must check a few very specific boxes. Continue reading to learn how we choose our speakers and which ones made it into our top ten!

Our Top Pick!

JBL Partybox 710

The PartyBox 710 is the best party speaker we’ve ever tried! With bone-shaking bass and customizable EQ settings, the 710 brings your party to life. It’s loud enough to fill large outdoor areas and can be significantly louder when connected to a power source.

Meet the Winners!

In its pricing category, the Soundcore Trance is one of the loudest Bluetooth speakers. An IPX7-rated waterproof casing, BassUp technology, and an integrated app are all included.

The Samsung MX-T70 is the largest and most powerful model in the MX-T range. This speaker, powered by a 1500W power amplifier, has enough power to rock the building!

Without a question, the SOUNDBOKS (Gen.3) is the loudest party speaker on our list. The SOUNDBOKS, which has two 10-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter, is capable of delivering extremely loud sound while preserving clear and precise sound quality. Three independent power amps drive the Soundboks drivers, using an amazing 216W of power to create loud and high-quality audio!

The JBL Partybox 710 is a Bluetooth speaker that can do it all! Suitable for parties of around 150 people, the Partybox 710 is the perfect choice for your larger-sized parties.

Increasing Volume With True Wireless Stereo (TWS)

True Wireless Stereo (TWS), also called PartyChain, is the ability to wirelessly connect two or more speakers together. Since this feature is not supported by all Bluetooth speakers, the options for ‘chaining’ speakers together ultimately rely on the device in question. The maximum number of devices that can be connected to a system is determined by the speaker (some only support up to 2 speakers, while some can accommodate up to 100).

It’s also a good idea to double-check that the speakers you’re planning to pair are compatible, as some can only connect with identical units and others with prior models from the same line or brand. There are two main reasons why you’d want to connect multiple speakers together, these include:

Create A Stereo Pair

This connects two wireless Bluetooth speakers to create a stereo arrangement, with each speaker carrying information from the left or right channel, respectively. This produces a larger stereo field than a single Bluetooth speaker, resulting in a listening experience that is more in line with how music was intended to be heard.

Create a louder Sound system

This method maintains the mono sound features of the speaker, but the sound will be transmitted through multiple speakers at once, resulting in a louder overall experience. Keep in mind that doubling the number of speakers does not always equal doubling the volume!

The PartyBox series of Bluetooth speakers from JBL has taken the portable party speaker industry by storm; with a slew of useful extra features and JBL’s typical loud sound, the PartyBox speakers should be on every party host’s wish list.

Speaker Design & Features

The music-synchronized light display, starry night effects, club-style strobes, and custom settings are all accessible on the front grille of the Partybox 710 and can be toggled via the control panel or PartyBox app. While the Partybox 710 is capable of powering a big outdoor party on its own, it can also be coupled to create a stereo pair or linked to a larger series to create a ground-shaking army of JBL speakers.

Sound Quality

The JBL Partybox 710 is the best party speaker we’ve ever tried! With the Bass Boost feature set to the first level, this huge party speaker produces the thump and rumble typical of bass-heavy music like EDM or hip-hop. The graphic EQ in the companion app allows you to tailor the sound profile to your preference. It can also be loud enough to fill big packed areas, and it can be significantly louder when connected to a power source. It’s fairly large and unwieldy, like most of the party speakers we’ve tried. This battery-powered speaker, on the other hand, comes with a telescoping handle and wheels to make it easier to transport to your next party.

JBL’s signature sound features are present in the Partybox 710, including tight and up-front bass response, warm midrange, and sharp high-end. In addition, the Partybox 710 has a ‘Bass Boost’ mode that enhances subsonic energy, however, this does have a negative impact on the overall clarity of the upper midrange and highs.

JBL has included a 2-band equalization on the control panel to compensate for this effect, allowing you to adjust the ‘Bass’ and ‘Treble’ individually to reach your own sweet spot. The Echo knob is located next to the EQ and handles the incoming signal from your microphone or instrument, assisting in the merging of your voice and a backing track during a karaoke session.

Connectivity

The JBL Partybox 710has Bluetooth and auxiliary playback capabilities, as well as the ability to accommodate up to two microphones or electric instruments. The USB output on the back end of the speaker can also be used to charge a phone.

Without a question, the SOUNDBOKS (Gen.3) is the loudest, largest, and most amazing huge Bluetooth speaker on the market! Where it lacks in portability, it certainly makes up for it with impressive volume and additional capabilities.

Speaker Design & Features

The SOUNDBOKS (Gen.3) can be purchased with two extra batteries, allowing you to quickly swap out the battery when it runs out rather than having to put the party on hold while the speaker charges. This gives you an extra 40 hours of playtime, which is more than enough for a weekend-long party or many bursts of musical fun.

Sound Quality

The SOUNDBOKS (Gen.3), which has two 10-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter, are capable of delivering extremely loud sounds while preserving clear and precise sound quality throughout the volume range without distortion or other undesired distortions. Three independent power amps drive the Soundboks drivers, using an amazing 216W of power to create loud and high-quality audio. Up to 5 Soundboks devices can be coupled together to form a stereo pair, or just to amp up the sound at your party!

Connectivity

Bluetooth, XLR, and 3.5mm Auxiliary input are all available onboard the SOUNDBOKS (Gen.3). Additionally, the SOUNDBOKS (Gen.3) can be connected to a mobile app, which can be used to operate the speaker and upgrade it. The MX-T70 is Samsung’s largest and most powerful Bluetooth speaker in the MX-T series. This speaker, powered by a 1500W power amplifier, has enough power to shake the building and draw the attention of the entire neighborhood!

Speaker Design & Features

The Sound Tower MX-T70 has a number of features that will enhance your party atmosphere and go above and beyond what the normal speaker can do. Splash-proof testing has been performed on the MX-T70, removing the worry of spilled drinks or pool splashes hurting your speaker. The built-in karaoke mode can take up to two mics at once, allowing you to show off your inner pop star to your buddies (or crank it up and show your neighbors too). The Sound Tower mobile app can modify the patterns of the onboard LED light show to best suit your party atmosphere and mood.

Sound Quality

Sound is transmitted in a bi-directional pattern using powerful speakers. While you can connect up to 10 Sound Tower speakers to create a ground-shaking house party, one of these Sound Towers alone has enough power and a bi-directional pattern to fill any room. The MX-T70 has a number of speakers, each of which uses a different portion of the 15000W of power and has distinct impedances:

  • 1 × 600W Woofer, 1.3 ohm
  • 2 × 300W midrange drivers with a 2.6-ohm impedance
  • 2 × 150W tweeters with a 2.12-ohm impedance

This set of five speakers works together to create a high-quality sound that is not only clean and crisp enough to watch a decent movie with but also has enough low-end to get some people moving on the dancefloor. The optional Bass Boost function on the Sound Tower MX-T70 can be engaged at the touch of a button and will turn your house party into an earthquake-like event.

Connectivity

Up to two source devices can be connected to the Sound Tower at the same time using Bluetooth Multi-Connection technology, and up to ten Sound Tower speakers (MX-T70, MX-T50, and MX-T40) can be linked via a wired or wireless connection to form a network of speakers capable of powering large-scale house parties.

The Sound Tower App, which is compatible with almost all modern mobile devices, also gives you control over the speaker’s lighting settings, sound effects library, and an interactive equalization to fine-tune the sound of your party.

Built-in adaptive equalization technology monitors the speaker’s surroundings and adapts for any acoustically problematic situations to offer dependably superb sound, no matter where the party takes you.

On a single charge, the SRS-XP700 can keep your party going for up to 25 hours, and if you want to keep the party going even longer, a 10-minute charge can give you 3 hours of continuous enjoyment.

You can control the speaker’s built-in lights using the Sony Fiestable App or Music Centre App, and you can even create playlists and tune the EQ of the SRS-XP700 with your mobile device.

Sony’s XB72 may not be the loudest on the list, but it makes up for it with a slew of party-friendly features. The XB72 is a terrific choice for small to mid-sized events indoors or out, with unique lighting, modern features, and superb sound.

Speaker Design & Features

The XB72’s mid-size makes it easy to carry, especially with the molded handle; nonetheless, the lack of a battery is a disappointment to me. The lack of battery power means it can’t be taken outside or even around the home without lugging around its AC converter, and it also eliminates the necessity for water resistance, which is often a nice feature for portable Bluetooth speakers nowadays.

Aside from this minor letdown, the XB72’s other features are excellent for its size and price. The power bank functionality is a lovely addition, and the onboard LEDs that can operate on three different light show patterns are a great feature for house parties. Bluetooth may connect up to three devices at once, and a microphone input adds to the fun with pals.

Sound Quality

While the XB72 isn’t the loudest, it can certainly reach high volumes while preserving sound quality and reducing distortion, pops, clicks, and other unpleasant noise. Sony clearly paid close attention to the speaker’s low-end response, as it sounds fantastic for dance and hip hop, or any other bass-heavy kind of music for that matter! Other genres, on the other hand, do well with the XB72; just expect a reasonable boost in low frequencies.

It’s a versatile Bluetooth speaker that accepts input from Bluetooth wireless, USB, SD cards, AUX, RCA, FM radio, and even a karaoke microphone. The Pyle speaker was created with parties in mind and comes with an app that allows you to sync colorful flashing DJ lights to the beat of your music.

It also functions as a portable Bluetooth speaker, with an extensible handle, rolling wheels, and a rechargeable battery. This is ideal for focusing your party on your garden or for quickly retrieving it from storage for large events.

The only drawback to the Pyle party speaker is that when utilizing Bluetooth mode, you must be cautious of feedback sounds. Although most speakers will produce feedback if you get too close, the PSUFM1043BT’s sheer volume capabilities will leave your ears ringing for days.

Sound Quality

In terms of sound, the Pyle PSUFM1043BT does not disappoint! It’s a 2000-watt tower speaker with dual 10-inch subwoofers and dual 3-inch tweeters, resulting in massive, bass-heavy surround sound. The Trance Bluetooth speaker from Soundcore is an amazingly economical alternative that has more than enough power to enable everything from casual at-home listening to a large gathering with powerful and immersive sound. The Trance is quite similar to the Rave Mini that came before it, however, there have been significant improvements.

Speaker Design & Features

The Soundcore app, which is accessible on all smart device platforms, may be used to operate the Trance’s various features, including sound mode, LED light show patterns and synchronization, and onboard party games, from afar.

While many portable speakers nowadays use Bluetooth technologies, the Soundcore Trance supports USB connections for playing files stored on a flash drive, as well as a 3.5mm auxiliary cord for rapid and easy sound transfer. The Trance also has a DC connector for charging mobile devices on the go, and it can pair up to two Soundcore speakers to form a stereo pair.

Sound Quality

The Soundcore Trance is smaller than the majority of the other speakers on this list, yet it can still provide the same volume levels. The Trance is small and light, making it extremely portable, and its ipx7 water resistance means it can withstand anything from light rain to a full submersion underwater.

The 5.25-inch woofer and 2-inch tweeter deliver a well-balanced, clear, and full-bodied listening experience at all volumes, so don’t be afraid to turn it up and see what this compact speaker can do!

When compared to its predecessor, the Rave Mini, there is no discernible improvement in sound quality. The Trance has only seen minor design changes, such as a more flexible handle, a more squared shape, and the removal of the rubber feet that allowed for horizontal positioning previously.

There are two sound options on the Soundcore Trance: Indoor and Outdoor. Each of the sound modes uses tone-shaping settings to increase sound clarity based on your surroundings.

The Aiwa Exos-9 Bluetooth party speaker is one of the best on the market. When you purchase the Exos-9 from Amazon, Aiwa offers a 60-day, risk-free satisfaction guarantee or your money back (Aiwa even pays return freight). Big sound, a battery that allows you to carry the Exos-9 with you everywhere you go, and simple connectivity.

Speaker Design & Features

The Exos-9 has Bluetooth and an 18-inch AUX input. Bluetooth connecting with an NFC sensor is straightforward and rapid, allowing for instant pairing with NFC-enabled devices. The Exos-9 includes a Bluetooth locking feature that allows you to connect only one device to the speaker. Other devices can’t connect to the Exos-9 because of this. If you have “that one friend” with a bad taste in music, this is a nice thing to have.

You can charge your phone, iPad, or iPod via the USB port on the back. If you’re camping or away from a power outlet and need to charge your gadget, this is a wonderful option. Keep in mind that this will reduce the Exos-9’s battery life.

The Exos-9 has a battery life of roughly 9 hours. This is continuous play at a volume of 85 decibels or less. There’s also a battery saver mode that turns off the 6.5″ subwoofer and gives you an extra 20% battery life. The Exos-9 sounds fantastic even without the subwoofer. Extra battery packs are available for purchase on the Aiwa website. Obviously, this will extend your battery life. If you’re going to utilize this party speaker in a remote spot without access to electricity, this is an excellent idea.

The Aiwa Exos-9 is lightweight at 13 pounds, making it easy to transport. The Exos-9 has a handle on the back that allows you to simply pick it up and move it around.

Sound Quality

One of the most powerful Bluetooth speakers we cover in this post is the Aiwa Exos-9. The Exos-9 offers 200W of power and roughly 100dB of sound thanks to its six speaker drivers. It’ll be more than enough to get the celebration going.

If that isn’t enough, you may connect two Exos-9 speakers wirelessly to create a powerful 400W stereo PA system. The Exos-9 speaker system is more than simply a standard speaker system. You can use the two speakers as a left/right PA system or as two independent speakers with their own internal stereo routing once they’ve been coupled. What is the benefit of this?

If you’re having a BBQ with people inside and outside, you may have one Exos-9 inside playing music and the other outside playing music with the same music and audio quality. Set them up as a left/right stereo PA system for double the sound if you want both speakers in the same area.

For better bass performance, the Exos-9 has a 6.5″ bass driver in the center of the speaker and a bass reflex port out the back. The Exos-9 has two 3″ mid-range drivers and two 1″ tweeters to provide stereo sound.

The Exos-9 comes with four different EQ presets tailored to specific musical genres. The integrated 5-band graphic EQ may be manually adjusted, providing you with complete control over the sound quality of the speaker.

Speaker Design & Features

Multiple inputs can be split among three channels, each with its own volume control, on the RPG122K. You can use XLR for mics or a 14-inch jack for instruments and microphones on Channels 1 and 2. RCA can be plugged into the third channel. The third channel’s volume control also controls the SD/USB and Bluetooth inputs. On the third channel, obviously, only one of these inputs can be used at a time. Finally, there’s a master volume control as well as bass and treble controls.

The onboard Bluetooth control panel can be used to operate a paired Bluetooth item. You can also adjust between the five pre-programmed EQ presets Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classic, Country, and Normal on the control panel. The speaker’s LED display shows the built-in FM radio frequency. On the RPG122K, you can save up to six FM channels. Regardless, the RPG122K remote control, which includes 6 buttons for your FM stations, can be used to access the controls.

Sound Quality

The Rockville RPG122K is a genuine PA system with two 12″ speakers that generate a total of 500W RMS and 1000W peak power. This is unquestionably loud enough to annoy the neighbors. Although each speaker comes with its own stand, the speaker cabinet design allows for positioning on the speaker’s side if necessary. This could, for example, be for an on-stage monitor. Speaker Design & Features

Up to 50 speakers from the ‘Boom’ line, in a variety of sizes and shapes, can be paired together to create the perfect house party arrangement. The Hyperboom’s buttons and controls are really simple to use, and the mobile app gives you even more control over the speaker. Up to four devices can be connected at once via a variety of interfaces such as Bluetooth, 3.5mm auxiliary cable, or optical cable, and the USB charging port can power mobile devices while the speaker is in use.

The Hyperboom boasts a 24-hour continuous battery life, which is more than enough for a noisy house party, a leisurely gathering in the garden or on the beach, or a classy dinner party with friends and family. It’s easy to transport thanks to the carry strap and lightweight design, and its ipx4 water-resistance rating ensures it’s safe from light spills and exposure to the outdoors.

Sound Quality

Ultimate Ears has implemented cutting-edge technology that analyzes the speaker’s surroundings in order to tailor the tonal qualities to the environment. This is accomplished with the help of an integrated microphone that analyzes incoming reflections from surfaces such as tiled floors, windows, mirrors, and countertops that may degrade sound quality and employs adaptive equalization methods to counteract them. Factors to Consider When Buying A Party Speaker

Party Size

Simply put, a person holding a small house party for 20 people will not have the same sound requirements as someone inviting 100 people. So, before you make a final purchase selection, think about how many people you usually entertain.

Indoors or Outdoors?

Consider the venue of your party, specifically whether it will be held indoors or outdoors, in conjunction with this. Some speakers sound great indoors, but when the acoustic effects of four walls and a roof are removed, the music “falls flat.” If you’re throwing an outdoor party, invest in a speaker that will perform well in that setting.

It’ll need to be powerful and loud, and if you know there’ll be water around, you’ll want it to be water-resistant or perhaps completely waterproof. Many speakers are water-resistant, such as the Soundboks, making them ideal for pool parties. If the party gets too loud, speakers rated IPX7 will easily end up inside the pool.

Power Output and Volume

The power of a speaker, which is measured in Watts (W), is an essential aspect. While the loudness of your speaker, measured in decibels (dB), is not directly proportional to the number of Watts it produces, the two are linked. The most crucial thing to keep in mind is:

The louder you can go without sacrificing sound quality, the more powerful your speaker is. You can acquire low-power speakers that can produce a lot of decibels, but the trouble is that when you turn them up to their party-level volumes, they quickly lose sound quality and start to sound harsh.

Thumping Bass

What’s a party without some serious bass?. Instead of merely hearing music, you want your guests to feel it. Imagine listening to some fantastic bass-heavy music while your speakers produce almost little bass. It would appear to be a huge letdown. What factors decide if a speaker has adequate bass?

Before we go any further, let’s define bass for the sake of clarity. The notes on the bottom end of the auditory spectrum are known as bass notes. It’s easy to explain by saying that it’s usually the guttural percussion parts of a song or the low explosions in a movie. You may feel these sounds vibrating through your body.

The subwoofer, in combination with the physical size of the speaker drivers, is the most important factor in determining the bass of a speaker. The “sub” is what provides the low pounding noises, and if you want to buy a party speaker with a powerful sub, the size, quality, and wattage are the most important factors to consider.

Sound Quality

When we talk about sound quality, we’re talking about the music’s mids and highs, and how clearly and distinctively a speaker can reproduce these sounds. If the sound quality is good, the mids and highs will be crystal clear and distortion-free even at high volumes. This is necessary because otherwise, once your speaker reaches a particular volume, you’ll hear a “scratching noise” that will damage your music.

Portability

Each of the party speakers on our list has been carefully selected to be both portable and Bluetooth compatible. While some of the speakers come with batteries and may be used when there is no power, others can be moved and are entirely portable, but they will need to be plugged in once they have been carried.

You’ll have to consider how portable your party speakers should be. Will they be able to fit in the rear of your vehicle? Do you require them to be battery-operated or can you plug them in at your party location?

Consider how simple it is to transport. Some speakers can be quite hefty, so check the weight of a speaker before purchasing it online to be sure you’ll be able to transport it. Check if the speaker has a handle, and opt for a party speaker with wheels and a telescoping handle so you can simply drag it about.

AC Power vs Battery

It’s a major topic to consider, whether or not your new Bluetooth speaker requires constant power. If you just intend to use your speaker in one area (desktop, bedside, or as part of your entertainment system), a battery-powered speaker may be excessive. However, you never know when the need to travel with your speaker arises.

Having to bring a wire, adaptor, and extension lead with you if you plan on transporting your speaker to the beach, camping, road-tripping, or even just another room in your house can be pretty inconvenient. To be on the safe side, I’d recommend getting a battery-powered speaker.

Battery Life

We recently noted that just a few of the party speakers on this list are battery-operated, so it’s crucial to check if the speaker has one. It’s crucial to determine whether or not the battery is rechargeable. Despite the fact that the chances of finding a suitable party speaker that runs on a non-rechargeable battery are minimal, I still check.

Batteries exist in a variety of sizes, with some being highly powerful and others, tragically, being extremely weak. Check the battery’s capacity and how long it will last at maximum volume. Keep in mind that the volume at which you listen to music has an impact on how long the battery lasts. Another thing to keep in mind about the battery is that if the speaker has other features like lighting, it will consume significantly more power than when only the music is playing.

This can have a significant impact on battery life. When the light dome is turned off, the ION Audio Block Party Live, which is an incredible speaker, gets roughly 70 hours of playtime from a charge. However, when the light dome is turned on while playing music, you only get 6 hours of gameplay. When purchasing a party speaker, keep this in mind.

Accessories

Many modern party speakers come with a slew of intriguing features and extras that set them apart from the competition. Some of these characteristics appear to be completely ridiculous, while others are actually quite useful. Lights are arguably the most important feature to look for in a party speaker. Some speakers have fantastic strobe lights, while others have multicolored LED lights, such as some of the Sony SRS-XP700 X-Series speakers, and then there’s the Sony XB72 party speaker, which has both.

Wheels are another wonderful feature or addition to check for. Many speakers come with wheels and a telescopic handle, making it simple to move about and get to where you need to be. Some speakers include handles to assist with transport, but I’m not sure if my kindergarten reminiscence merely makes the thought of wheeling things around seem so much better.

There are a variety of other accessories available, such as remote controls, speaker stands, and microphones, but the accessories you choose for your speaker are based on your preferences and needs. A party speaker with a slew of lights isn’t for everyone. Fortunately, there is a wide range of speakers on our list, so you are sure to find something you enjoy.

Connecting Multiple Devices

Multiple devices can be connected to some speakers at the same time. We obviously can’t play more than one song via the same speakers at the same time, but it’s a nice feature if you’re splitting music duty with a friend at a party, or bouncing tunes off one another and experiencing some music discovery moments together.

It’s ideal to be able to connect many devices for these purposes because you won’t have to go through the steps of disconnecting, pairing, and waiting every time it’s someone else’s turn to play music.

Conclusion

If you give it too much thought, throwing a party may be a major hassle. Let us break it down for you because, like many people these days, we believe in keeping things simple. You must purchase one of our featured party speakers; they are truly the best. You’ll need some booze, a hundred or so of your closest friends, and an open space free of breakables once you’ve completed this. You just need only four items to throw an incredible party – unless it’s extremely formal, in which case you may need to wear a tie.
