We’re a huge TREBLAB fan (and for good reason!). Founded in 2015, TREBLAB has been working hard to create high-quality audio products that rival the likes of JBL and Bose, but at a far more affordable price.
We’ve been making our way through their product catalog of wireless headphones, earphones, and speakers. If you’ve missed those reviews, be sure to check them out here. Today, we’re going to be reviewing the TREBLAB XR700 Wireless Earphones. If you’re a fan of neckband headphones, or you’re into endurance sports, then the XR700 might be exactly what you need!
Unboxing & First Thoughts
TREBLAB has done a great job of keeping the packaging simple but still attractive. On first impressions, nothing screams ‘cheap’ about this product so I was surprised to find that these wireless earphones are priced just below the $40 mark. At this price point, you’d expect very budget packaging.
Removing the branded sleeve reveals a sturdy TREBLAB-branded box. Inside, you’ll find a hardshell travel case along with the user manual, registration card, and a TREBLAB sticker. Housed within the travel case are the XR700 earphones, the Micro-USB charging cable, 2 x additional ear tip sizes, as well as a silicone cord minder.

Earphone Design & Comfort
Designed specifically with your workout in mind, the TREBLAB XR700 features an adjustable over-ear hook, along with a neckband, to ensure they stay in place on your run or during your gym session. Being adjustable, you’re able to shape the ear hook to ensure a custom fit for your ears. Furthermore, the IPX7 waterproof rating means these earphones will withstand sweat and even rain.
The TREBLAB XR700 Bluetooth Earbuds come in a stylish matte black finish, with the red TREBLAB logo on each earphone. An anti-tangle, flat cable connects the earphones together, allowing you to rest one or both earphones on your shoulders when not in use.
While not noise-canceling, the TREBLAB XR700 offers a decent amount of noise isolation to drown out background noise in the gym and help you focus on your workout. The earphones come with three different ear tip size options to ensure you get a comfortable fit. Foam ear tips are also available as an additional purchase if that is your preference.

Earphone Controls
Simple and easy to use, the TREBLAB XR700 Bluetooth Earbuds features just three buttons on the right earphone. These buttons allow you to power on the earphones, adjust the volume, and select the next/previous track. A micro-USB port located on the underside of the earphone lets you charge your XR700, while an integrated mic lets you answer phone calls.
To answer a call or end a call, simply press the power button. Pressing and holding the power button for 2 seconds will reject the call while pressing the power button twice will activate your voice assistant.

Sound Quality
In terms of sound quality, this is where the TREBLAB XR700 wireless headphones shine. For under $40, I was blown away by the excellent clarity in just about any genre played. However, when comparing the sound quality of headphones, it’s important to compare like for like. What does this mean? Let me elaborate:
Wireless headphones (or earphones) rarely have a neutral soundscape and almost always feature an enhanced sound profile to ensure a pleasurable listening experience while working out. The TREBLAB XR700 Bluetooth Earbuds are no exception to this with their True-HD sound and bass boost function. This means you’ll have a slight boost added to the bass and some enhancement added to the treble. Most people listen to upbeat, energetic music while working out and this sound profile is perfect for that.

Technical Specs & Features
Battery Life & Charging
The TREBLAB XR700 offers a battery life of about nine hours, which is definitely going to last you the duration of your gym session! They would also be ideal for trail running and hiking, or even just your daily errands. Charging takes just two hours, so even if you forget to charge them the night before – you’d be able to charge them during your lunch break and they’d have enough juice to get you through your afternoon session.
Wireless Connectivity
The TREBLAB XR700 Wireless Earphones feature Bluetooth Version 5.0, giving it the edge over its competitors that are still offering Version 4.2. While the signal range is still only 33 feet, this is more than enough range – given that you will almost always have your device either on your person or in your backpack anyways.
IPX7 Waterproof
The TREBLAB XR700 Bluetooth Earbuds feature an IPX7 waterproof rating which means they’re ideal for both those hot and sweaty summer jogs and your rainy morning trail runs. While not designed to be used while swimming per se, the XR700 earbuds can handle being submerged in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes. This means that they’re not only perfect for endurance runners and gym-goers but kayakers and SUP boarders can get great use out of these too!
Phone Calls
As mentioned, the TREBLAB XR700 earphones feature a built-in microphone, allowing you to take calls on the go. The microphone offers cVc 6.0, which stands for Clear Voice Capture. This is designed to filter ambient noise out and offer noise suppression technology, giving you crystal clear voice quality while making calls.

TREBLAB XR700 vs Bose SoundSport Wireless Earbuds
If you’re considering the Bose SoundSport as an alternative option, you may be wondering which is the better alternative. While the Bose SoundSport offers NFC paring and winged ear tips (as opposed to ear hooks) this comes at a cost of more than three times the price of the TREBLAB XR700. All other specs are virtually the same, with the TREBLAB XR700 actually offering 2 hours longer battery life, a higher waterproof rating, and a newer Bluetooth version. Unless NFC pairing is essential for you, the TREBLAB XR700 offers far better value for money and more current technology compared to the Bose SoundSport.
Why is the TREBLAB XR700 better than Bose SoundSport Wireless?
- Longer battery life
- Higher waterproof rating

How to Pair your TREBLAB XR700 Earphones
Step 1: Ensure that your earphones are fully charged and that the earphones are turned OFF
Step 2: One the right earbud, press and hold the power button until you hear the voice prompt say “Power ON”. An LED light will also start flashing blue and red to indicate that it is in pairing mode.
Step 3: Scan for Bluetooth devices on your smart device and select the TREBLAB XR700 earphones.
Step 4: If a password is required, enter “0000”.
Step 5: Upon successful pairing, you will hear the voice prompt say “Your headset is connected”. The LED light will then only flash blue every 10 seconds while connected.
If you experience any issues with pairing, ensure that the earphones are within 30ft of your device and that they are not already paired with another device. The XR700 earphones can be paired with 2 devices simultaneously but can only receive input from one device at a time. To remove previously paired devices, reset the memory limit on the earphones. To do this, press and hold the POWER button for 2 seconds while charging. Once the LED flashes blue 3 times, all previously paired devices will be removed. If you still experience an issue with pairing, try turning your smart device off and back on again.
Conclusion
At under $40, the TREBLAB XR700 Wireless Earphones offer incredible value for money! With their adjustable ear hooks to ensure the perfect fit, they’re perfect for endurance runners and gym-goers alike. Offering Bluetooth 5.0, an IPX7 rating, and an excellent sound profile, the TREBLAB XR700 dominates its competition with premium features at a fraction of the cost!
